Does teenage rebellion portend a life of crime? Psychologists and long-time research collaborators Jay Belsky, Avshalom Caspi, Terrie Moffitt, and Richie Poulton explore these questions and other enduring mysteries of human development in their new book, The Origins of You . PT asked the authors to share which developmental factors they believe are the most underappreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Randomness<\/strong>
All of us can point to random events that played a pivotal role in life, such as meeting a mentor who redirects a career or surviving a disaster.
