Nsehe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nigerian business mogul Cosmas Maduka, one of Nigeria\u2019s most\nsuccessful businessmen, has built a rice processing mill in Anambra, a state in\nNigeria\u2019s southeastern region, at a reported cost of $35 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a report by ThisDay, the rice mill which was\nconstructed by Coscharis Farms, a subsidiary of the Cosharis Group which Maduka\ncontrols, was officially launched last Tuesday at a ceremony in Anambra\nattended by Nigeria\u2019s Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele and various\nNigerian state governors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first phase of the rice mill which has a milling\ncapacity of 40,000 MT per annum was launched on Tuesday, but the entire project\nis expected to have an annual milling capacity of 120,000 MT when completed by\nthe end of 2020 according to a press statement by Maduka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" data-attachment-id=\"832\" that started operations in 2014 to meet part of\nthe estimated 5.9 million MT annual rice demand in Nigeria. Coscharis Farms\ncurrently has close to 3,000 hectares of land for rice cultivation in Anambra\nand an irrigation system on its farm to enable multi\u2010cycle rice cultivation.\nCoscharis Farms has a robust farmer out\u2010grower development programme within\nAnambra State, and its environs that aims to reach thousands of farmers that\ncould provide rice paddy to its mill when completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe want to process paddy harvested from our farm into best\nquality rice. We want to contribute significantly to the government\u2019s efforts\nto ensure food sufficiency through local production of rice.
