A 21-year-old Instagrammer identified as Ireland Tate from Nashville is\ndown with the novel coronavirus after she shared a video about not social\ndistancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak over the world, many governments\nhave advised their citizens to curb the spread of the virus by social\ndistancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sharing a video, she said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m aware that we\u2019re supposed to be self-quarantining and social\ndistancing and all these things to like keep everyone safe,\u201d she grinned in her\nvideo. \u201cI get it, cool, great.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI just don\u2019t think that I\u2019m gonna get the virus.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The inevitable happened as days later, she got the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA little update on corona, isolated quarantine, and why staying home is\nimportant,\u201d she updated on Instagram, with a now-mask-wearing selfie. \u201cIf you\nhadn\u2019t heard by now I tested positive for COVID19 on Wednesday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Explaining how she got the virus, she disclosed that someone she had been\nin contact with had the virus, but didn\u2019t know. She developed a \u201cminor sore\nthroat, but nothing to be concerned about,\u201d and decided to call the hospital to\nlet them know the situation, as well as the fact she had asthma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey recommended that I come in to get tested, I really didn\u2019t think I had\nit but I went and got tested anyway,\u201d she wrote. \u201c3 days later they called to\ntell me it was positive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t really have any new symptoms other than being extra tired and\nbody aches. Then I developed a cough, a terrible migraine that is going on 4\ndays strong, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, and just overall a gross\nfeeling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI say all of this to say that I didn\u2019t think that I would get it, I made\njokes about it and made funny videos about \u2018if I get it I get it, it\u2019s not a\nbig deal\u2019 and here I am. It\u2019s not just effecting the older generation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ireland claimed that in her home state of Tennessee, there are four times\nas many cases among people aged 21-30 as there are among those aged 61-70, she\nattributed to \u201cYOU ALL CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF YOU STAY INSIDE.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes our immune systems might be stronger, we might be able to get it and\nget over it but that\u2019s not the point,\u201d she sagely-yet-belatedly advised. \u201cThe\npoint is that we can flatten the curve, we can give healthcare workers less to\nworry about if you would just stay inside.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She concluded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m going on day 4 of isolated quarantine and I am not having a good time.\nI am bored, I am starting to feel very antsy being alone and in such a small\nspace for so long. As a extrovert and a 7 this is not a good time for me, but\nI\u2019m trying to make the most of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
