The Ondo State Government has said arrangements are in top gear to kick-start the massive issuance of Certificates of Occupancy to property owners across the 18 local government areas of the state.

The government also said it had put up a programme code named, ‘Home Ownership Charter of Ondo State’, under which the government would assist property owners to procure their title documents devoid of unnecessary encumbrance associated with the process in the past.

The state’s Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Raimi Aminu, stated this while speaking with journalists in Akure, the state capital.

Aminu noted the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, had visited the ongoing HOCOS building project, which was about 95 per cent completed.

He said, “If you know Mr. Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, very well, you will know he is a workaholic. This afternoon, we were surprised when he paid an unscheduled visit to assess the level of completion of the ongoing HOCOS building project.

“Home Ownership Charter of Ondo State is a programme that the governor initiated because it was discovered that most buildings in the state did not have the necessary title documents.  This will address and alleviate the suffering of our people in the area of getting their title documents.

‘There were some criteria hindering our people in getting the title documents in the past. Government had being trying its bit to make it easier.”
