Actress, Ufuoma McDermott, has urged women to always check on their men and be supportive of them. Taking to her Instagram page, McDermott urged her followers to understand that boys also cry and it is good to extend kindness to everyone, irrespective of gender.
McDermott shared a photo of her husband and son and captioned it with the words, “How often do we appreciate the men in our lives? They go through things too, you know. Harassment, prejudice, hurt, lethargy, endless thoughts.
“A few have been made to believe that sharing their feelings makes them less masculine. I doubt it.
“I know you’re thinking of someone as you read this. Your brother, boyfriend, cousin, friend, dad, boss, son, colleague, husband, uncle.
“Pick up your phone and #CheckOnAMan today. “Hey, I see you” “Well done” “Next one will be better” or even “Send your account number”. Kindness has no gender. Is this right or wrong? #BoysAlsoCry#BoysVsGirls#TheGooseand TheGander#OpinionTime I love my boys.”
Agreeing with her, some of the actress’ fans took turns to comment on the post.
Abah_tessy wrote, “(I) was just thinking of doing something special for my husband for all his hard work when I saw (this). You are in the spirit.”
Fabricsmilly wrote, “It’s right they need to be appreciated because they try a lot. Some men hide their feelings. They just need someone to encourage and remind them that they are very special.”
