The Audacity And Effrontery Of Emilokan

Tinubu

If you are aspiring to become an activist, first deactivate any racial, tribal, political, and religious bugs that you have in your operating system. Because you will need it, to be as effective, enduring, and renowned as two of Nigeria’s best – Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Fela Anikulapo Kuti. But most importantly have a cash cow that is very resilient to government sanctions because every activist will be tempted like Reno Omokri has been tempted, and you will eventually compromise your integrity if you are not prepared for this noble but onerous call. When you think about how the activist community in Nigeria became agitated and activated during the Goodluck Jonathan years and how they became deactivated during the Buhari years, you would see reasons with my postulation. These days you can easily see former activists like Gani Fawehinmi’s mentee Festus Keyamo sacrilegiously defending the worst and most incompetent ruler Nigeria will ever have if we can get it right with this last opportunity before us in 2023. You will also see Reno Omokri using narratives against Peter Obi that he should ordinarily be using against his paymaster.

So, if you are Yoruba and a Lagosian and you do not see anything wrong in the ideology of Emilokan as preached and sloganed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, instead you fill that being Obidients in these chaotic times is what is more important to address, then I dare say you are not a son of you father. I am referring to Femi Kuti’s message to Obidients without any word for the Emilokan crooner who sees the leadership or presidency in Nigeria as turn by turn, which is the contextual meaning of Emilokan. For Tinubu, who is arguably the guiltiest culprit of the Buhari disaster, telling Nigerians that it is his turn, shows his mindset which I dare say again, is evil, unreasonable, proud, entitled, and callous taking into consideration the harm that the Buhari years has done to Nigeria and Nigerians. If you and yours have not been harmed by the gross incompetence of the Buhari administration that has manifested in many dimensions ranging from insecurity to the value of the Naira, then go ahead and compensate Tinubu with your vote in 2023 for giving us Buhari. But for me and my house, it will be a sin, to even think about voting for Tinubu or anyone who has contributed to making Nigeria what it is today.

If you are still so religiously and ethnically bigoted and you still want to vote for Tinubu with Adams Oshiomhole’s reasoning that Tinubu cannot be blamed for Buhari’s failure, then take a look at Tinubu’s best men or mentees in Buhari’s administration – Lai Mohammed, Babatunde Fashola, and Yemi Osibanjo and you can easily forecast what the aging Tinubu can offer in terms of the caliber of men that will run his proposed administration. Tinubu has used the outcome of the second worst livable city in the world – Lagos, to boast about his transformative agenda but his supporters forget that Lagos because of her strategic location like most great cities with regards to proximity to trade via the ocean has been a successful center of commerce before the amalgamation of Nigeria. During the administration of the present NDLEA boss – Buba Marwa, the international community celebrated security and other commendable attributes of the Marwa years as Lagos State administrator than what the bullion vanned Tinubu can boast of after ruling Lagos for more than two decades. If you still want to vote for Tinubu like you probably voted for Buhari on Tinubu’s behest, then know Nigerians are watching and you will be excluded from the New Nigeria I hope will emerge from a new crop of leaders who will not be there to maintain the status quo.
