Why Voting For Tinubu Or Atiku Is A Sin

In the corporate world, when a company whose principal objective is profit-making continues to witness an extended period of not making a profit, the management or chief executive officer is fired. In most developed or even developing countries, if a political party fails to deliver its campaign promises voters vote them out in the next election. We are about to vote again, and it seems many Nigerians are still entwined in the gag of ethnic and religious sentiment. They are ready to vote in their ethnic or local hero who is a national zero into power regardless of their competence or ability to find and implement the solutions that Nigeria desperately needs.

Many dictionaries will define sin as an immoral act considered as a transgression or wrongdoing against divine law. So, why would I be making the above statement about voting for Tinubu or Atiku? To the reasonable, this statement is a no-brainer. But we have a lot of Nigerians whose reasonings are affected by ethnicity, religion, and popular stereotypes. With the present state of Nigeria, it is ordinarily unthinkable for any right-thinking Nigerian who has witnessed the maladministration of Buhari and his party – APC, to have the desire to vote for the man who orchestrated his enthronement – Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If that is not enough, the public appearances of Tinubu in the last few months have proven to all who are still thinking right that Tinubu has mental health challenges to put it lightly. And he is nowhere fit to lead Nigeria at any time, but most importantly now.

For Atiku and his cronies in PDP who were part of the gang that extended the corruption landmarks that the military regimes of Ibrahim Babaginda and Sani Abacha established, he is also a no-no if we are serious about starting a new Nigeria. Atiku’s antecedents and the way he has responded to the criminalities perpetrated by members of his religion and ethnicity show he is not the man for the job. One can argue that most Nigerian politicians have minor or major affiliations to APC and PDP and are hence unqualified as Atiku and Tinubu. Notwithstanding, true and unbiased Nigerians know those who have what it takes to lead Nigeria into an era of peace, prosperity, and progress. Voting for someone who cannot do this, is a sin against Nigeria and Nigerians.
